We first opened our doors in November of 2001 in a small plaza on Springfield St. in the Feeding Hills area. Since then we have expanded twice to larger facilities as demand for our services grew. We now serve about 35-40 customers per day from Agawam and the surrounding towns. Many of our customers have been with us since the beginning, and we are now helping them raise their second or even third puppy!
As the owner of K9Capers, I am passionate about dogs and their behavior! I have studied canine social behavior and worked in the dog care and training field for over 20 years. I hold a degree in Veterinary & Animal Science, and a BS from UMass in Animal & Behavioral Sciences. I also provide consulting services, dog evaluations for rescue, and staff training for other centers, sharing advice and instruction on canine social behavior and group management. I have three wonderful dogs of my own ( Xip,9yrs; Hayden, 6yr; and Clare, 11mos) and make every effort to treat the dogs in my care with the same thoughtfulness as I would my own.
The staff at K9Capers are chosen because of thier interest in dog training, health, and care issues. They recieve extensive hands-on training and participate in behavioral seminars & workshops throughout the year. All of our staff members take great pride in working for our nationally recognized center and upholding our high standards of behavior and care.
